Seasons of Waiting: Trusting God When Answers Don’t Come
Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.
— Psalm 27:14
Waiting can feel like standing still while the rest of the world moves forward. It’s a season marked by unanswered prayers, lingering uncertainty, and the temptation to act on our own timing. Yet, in the waiting, God often does His most profound work—strengthening our faith, refining our character, and preparing us for what’s to come.
Think of a seed buried beneath the soil. It may seem dormant, but hidden from view, it’s breaking open, taking root, and growing into something beautiful. Our seasons of waiting are much the same. Though it may feel like nothing is happening, God is at work, orchestrating His plan in His perfect timing.
How to Trust God in the Waiting
- Anchor Yourself in His Promises: Turn to scripture for reminders of God’s faithfulness.
- Pray with Honesty: Share your struggles and desires with God, trusting that He hears you.
- Focus on What You Can Control: Use this time to grow spiritually, emotionally, or relationally.
Ask Yourself:
- What is God teaching me in this season of waiting?
- How can I release my timeline and trust in His?
- What small step can I take today to grow in faith while I wait?
An Invitation
Today, take heart in the knowledge that waiting is not wasted. Trust that God’s timing is perfect and that He is working for your good, even when you can’t see it.
