The Light Within
You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.
-Matthew 5:14
There’s a light within you—do you feel it? Or has it been buried under layers of fear, doubt, and the weight of the world?
Jesus didn’t say, “One day, if you try hard enough, you’ll become the light.” He declared, “You are the light of the world.” Right now, just as you are, that divine spark is alive within you.
Yet, how often do we dim our light? We tell ourselves, I’m not ready. I’m not enough. Who am I to shine? But the truth is, your light isn’t about you—it’s about the One who placed it there. It’s meant to shine, not perfectly, but authentically.
Think about it: when you walk into a dark room, even the smallest flame transforms the space. Your light, no matter how small or fragile it feels, has the power to change the atmosphere around you.
So, what holds us back? Often, it’s fear—fear of rejection, of failure, of not being worthy. But Jesus reminds us that our light isn’t about achieving something; it’s about being who we are in God.
Let’s reflect together:
- Where am I hiding my light, and why?
- What would happen if I chose to shine, even a little?
Today, take a step. Share a kind word, extend forgiveness, or simply smile at a stranger. Each small act lets your light shine brighter, reminding the world—and yourself—of the divine spark within.
