
The Courage to Begin Again
Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
-Lamentations 3:22-23
Every morning, the sun rises without fail, painting the sky with a reminder: today is a new beginning. No matter what happened yesterday—whether it was filled with victories or struggles—God’s mercy is fresh, offering us the chance to begin again.
But let’s be honest—starting over can feel overwhelming. Whether it’s rebuilding after a failure, mending a broken relationship, or stepping back into faith after a season of doubt, beginning again takes courage. It requires us to trust that God’s grace isn’t just theoretical—it’s real, abundant, and available to us right now.
Why Is It So Hard to Start Over?

But God has this incredible way of reminding me that those things aren’t mine to carry. His grace gently takes them off my shoulders, whispering, You’re not defined by where you’ve been. Let’s focus on where we’re going.
Grace for the Journey
The courage to begin again doesn’t come from having it all figured out. It comes from knowing you don’t have to. God’s faithfulness isn’t dependent on your perfection. His mercies are new every morning, meeting you exactly where you are and offering you the strength to take the first step.
Ask Yourself:
- What area of my life needs a fresh start?
- What’s holding me back from stepping into God’s grace and beginning again?
How to Embrace a New Beginning
- Release the Past: Acknowledge your mistakes or setbacks, but don’t let them define you. Offer them to God and leave them there.
- Take the First Step: You don’t need to see the entire path. Focus on one small action you can take today.
- Trust in God’s Faithfulness: Remind yourself that His mercies are new every morning, and He’s walking this journey with you.
An Invitation
Beginning again isn’t about erasing the past; it’s about trusting that God can transform it into something beautiful. It’s about leaning into His compassion, which never fails, and letting Him lead you into a new chapter.
