Article: The Kingdom of God Is Within You

The Kingdom of God Is Within You

The Kingdom of God Is Within You

Being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them, "The kingdom of God is not coming in ways that can be observed, nor will they say, 'Look, here it is!' or 'There!' For behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you."

— Luke 17:20-21

Have you ever found yourself searching—looking for a sign, a miracle, or some proof that life is working in your favor? Jesus answers this question in a way that feels so simple yet so revolutionary: the kingdom of God isn’t something external. It’s not out there somewhere, waiting for you to find it. It’s within you.

This truth is so profound because it shifts everything. Jesus wasn’t asking us to wait for the kingdom to arrive or to look to others for validation. Instead, He was calling us to look inward and awaken to the divine presence already alive within us.

But how often do we forget this? How often do we chase the external—thinking fulfillment is somewhere outside of us—when the real treasure has been in our hearts all along? Jesus’ words are a reminder that the answers we seek don’t come from the outside world. They come from quieting the noise, turning inward, and connecting with the God who has been with us all along.

The kingdom isn’t a future promise; it’s a present reality. It’s not distant; it’s here. It’s not external; it’s alive in you.

Take a Moment to Reflect:
Today, sit with this question: What is the kingdom of God within me asking me to awaken to? Listen closely. You might just hear the answer you’ve been searching for.

I appreciate the encouragement to look within, but I must admit, the idea fills me with a sense of fear. My mind often feels like a daunting place because it harbors a version of myself that is negative and critical. This inner struggle makes the journey inward seem intimidating. However, I recognize that facing these feelings might be the key to awakening to the kingdom of God within me and finding peace.

Thank you for sharing so vulnerably. Facing the parts of ourselves that feel negative or critical can indeed be daunting, but I want you to know that this fear is a sign of growth—it means you’re standing at the doorway to transformation. The mind often clings to these shadows because it fears change, but the beauty of looking within is that you’re not doing it alone.

The kingdom of God within you is not about judgment; it’s about love, grace, and acceptance. As you gently turn inward, try to approach your thoughts with curiosity rather than criticism. Remind yourself that the critical voice is not your truth—it’s a layer that can be peeled back to reveal your divine essence.

You are already on the path to awakening because you’re willing to see this struggle for what it is: an opportunity to release what no longer serves you and step into the peace that has always been within you. You’re so much stronger than the fear, and you’re never alone in this journey. 💛 I love you.

Thank you for sharing. I have a lot of house cleaning to do. I’ve allowed things to pile up around me and have lost sight to the one that kept me, JESUS!!
